Additional street bins for e-waste in the Municipality of Koper

Together with Marjetica Koper, we installed new street bins for the disposal of small e-waste (WEEE) and waste batteries (OPBA) at 25 additional locations. Five years ago, the first 17 such collectors were installed in the municipality. They were well received by the citizens, as 67 tons of waste electrical and electronic equipment have been collected in them since their installation.

The collectors were set up in the Municipality of Koper as part of the Life E-waste Management project under the slogan E-cycle together with the local partner Marjetica Koper, d.o.o. and the Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning of the Republic of Slovenia. It urges households to handle e-waste and waste batteries with care, as they are a special group of waste that does not belong to mixed municipal waste, so they want to bring them closer to the possibility of their disposal. They contain heavy metals that are very dangerous for the environment, but on the other hand they are raw materials from which recyclables are recovered, from which new products can be produced, thus preserving natural resources.

Otherwise, we installed additional street collectors in the center of Koper (4), in Žusterna (3), in Olmo Prisoje (1), in Škocjan (2), in Vanganel (1), in Marezige (1), in Šmarje (2). , in Bertoki (2), in Pobegi-Čežarje (2), in Sv. Anton (1), in Gračišče (1), in Gradin (1), in Črni kal (1), in Deans (1) and in Škofije (1). All their locations can be found on the online map at www.zeos.si/zbirna-mesta/.
